B1 – Air quality monitoring in Florence

The direct contribution of the test area in air pollution abatement (CO₂, PM_2.5, PM₁₀, NO₂ and O₃) is evaluated by sensors inside and outside the tree-covered area, above and below the canopy, before and after tree planting. The sensors are placed vertically, unsheltered, at a minimum height of 1.8 m above the ground. The air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction are also continuously measured.
