AIRFRESH: Air pollution removal by urban forests for a better human well-being

B1 – Air quality monitoring in Florence

The direct contribution of the test area in air pollution abatement (CO2, PM2.5, PM10, NO2 and O3) is evaluated by sensors inside and outside the tree-covered area, above and below the canopy, before and after tree planting. The sensors are placed vertically, unsheltered, at a minimum height of 1.8 m above the ground. The air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction are also continuously measured.
