Action B1 – Visit to the area of tree planting in Florence

Visit to the area of tree planting in Florence for planning the first AIRFRESH campaign of air quality monitoring with Elena Paoletti, Yasutomo Hoshika, Moreno Lazzara and Alessandro Zaldei.

As large-scale reforestation is not feasible within a project, one test area will be implemented with fast-growing trees in Florence (mixed species, > 2 m tall, 1-ha). The planting will be based on a delivered list of suitable plant species to maximize the peri-urban forest benefits for a cleaner and healthier air. Measurements campaigns will be carried out in and around the area, above and below the canopy, before and after tree planting.
